ASSESSMENT AND TREATMENT
Your physiotherapy journey begins with a thorough assessment. Our physiotherapists will carefully examine your condition, identify the root causes of your pain or mobility issues, and explain these in clear terms. This helps you understand your body better and the treatment steps ahead.
Treatment methods include manual therapy such as deep and soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, exercise prescription, kinesio taping, and other evidence-based techniques. We are also certified in the GLA:D programme for hip and knee arthritis, providing targeted exercise to reduce pain and improve function.

classes
MAT-BASED PILATES
Pilates is a gentle form of exercise focused on core stability and rebalancing muscles throughout the body. It’s ideal for anyone with back pain, poor posture, or low core strength or those simply seeking a safe, gentle workout.
Our Pilates classes emphasise using the correct muscles during each movement, helping to re-educate your body to improve function and prevent injuries. With small class sizes, our experienced instructor provides individual attention, ensuring no one gets lost in the crowd.
If you have a specific injury or concern, attending an individual session with a physiotherapist before starting classes can be very helpful. Please contact us to discuss your needs.
Spaces in Pilates classes are limited. We advise an individual assessment before starting to determine the appropriate exercise level.
HYDROTHERAPY
Held every Wednesday at Campaspe Aquatic Centre, our hydrotherapy classes use warm water to reduce joint stress and improve strength, balance, and mobility. Ideal for those with arthritis, post-surgical rehab needs, or chronic pain, these classes are guided by physiotherapists to ensure safety and effectiveness.
Our hydrotherapy class runs every Wednesday at 9am. Bookings are essential.

mANUAL tHERAPY
Manual therapy is a hands-on treatment approach used by our physiotherapists to relieve pain, restore movement, and improve function. Techniques such as joint mobilisation, deep and soft tissue massage, cupping, and stretching are tailored to each patient’s needs. By addressing stiffness, muscle tightness, and joint restrictions, manual therapy can accelerate recovery and help prevent future injuries.
CLINICAL EXERCISE
Targeted exercise is one of the most effective ways to build strength, improve flexibility, and aid recovery. Our physiotherapists prescribe evidence-based exercise programs designed to support your individual goals. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing a chronic condition, or improving athletic performance, our clinical exercise programs provide a safe and structured pathway to better movement and long-term health.
DRY NEEDLING
Dry needling is a safe and effective treatment for releasing tight muscles and reducing pain. By inserting fine, sterile needles into trigger points, our physiotherapists can stimulate muscle relaxation and improve blood flow. This technique is especially beneficial for conditions such as tension headaches, back pain, and sports-related muscle tightness. Dry needling is often combined with other physiotherapy methods for the best outcomes.
GLA:D
Rich River Physiotherapy is proud to offer the GLA:D program (Good Life with Osteoarthritis: Denmark), an internationally recognised program designed for people with hip or knee osteoarthritis. The program includes education sessions and tailored exercise classes that focus on strengthening, stability, and pain management. Our certified GLA:D physiotherapists will guide you through evidence-based strategies proven to reduce pain, improve mobility, and enhance quality of life.
ERGONOMIC ADVICE & EDUCATION
Poor posture and workplace ergonomics are common causes of pain and injury. Our physiotherapists provide expert ergonomic assessments and practical advice to improve your posture, workplace setup, and daily movement patterns. Whether you spend long hours at a desk, work in a physically demanding role, or simply want to avoid strain, we’ll teach you strategies to reduce discomfort and prevent injury in everyday life.
RADIAL SHOCKWAVE THERAPY
Radial Shockwave Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses acoustic waves to stimulate healing in chronic soft tissue injuries. It is particularly effective for conditions such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, and stubborn tendon pain. The treatment helps increase blood flow, reduce inflammation, and promote tissue regeneration, often providing relief where other therapies may have been unsuccessful.
